Eph Field Hockey Posts Second Highest Team GPA in NCAA DIII

GILBERT, Ariz. — Alix Barrale's Williams College Field hockey team posted the second highest team GPA in all of NCAA DIII field hockey this fall. 

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is proud to announce that 131 programs have earned the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.

The Division III National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2018-19 academic year.

Swarthmore College posted the highest team GPA at 3.76. Barrale's Ephs were second with a 3.69 team GPA, while the Ephs' archrival Amherst was third at 3.65. The fourth highest GPA was earned by Haverford College (3.64) and Springfield College was fifth (3.63). 

Three Division III academic awards remain to be announced — the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Squad will be announced on March 20, the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Scholars of Distinction on March 27 and the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete on April 3.
