HADLEY, MA -- Williams College junior guard James Wang (Sydney, Australia) was chosen as the NESCAC Player of the Week for Dec. 6.
Wang averaged 20.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game in helping the Ephs remain undefeated this season over three outings last. He made 21-of-36 attempts from the floor (.583), 13-of-19 from long range (.684), and was 7-of-8 from the free throw line. In Tuesday's 89-73 win at Rensselaer, Wang had a game-high 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting and tied the Eph record with eight threes.
During Saturday's 92-42 win at Vassar, Wang hit every shot he took. He was 5-for-5 from the floor, 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, and 4-4 from the line for 16 points.
This season Wang is averaging 19.6 points a game on 57% shooting from the floor (45 for 78), 26-30 (86,7%) from the charity stripe, and he boasts a NESCAC best 56.8% from beyond the arc (21-37). Wang also averages 4.14 assists and just over one steal per game.
Tuesday Wang and the Ephs host Hamilton College in a 7:30 PM contest in Chandler Gym in their last home game of the semester.
