MINNEAPOLIS, MN – A tough overtime loss at Amherst, 92-89, has dropped the Ephs (13-1) from second to sixth in the D3Hoops.com national poll.

The Ephs played their fourth consecutive game without inside presence Troy Whittington (17 ppg, 10 rpg) and despite a valiant effort by the Ephs on Saturday they came up a bit short versus Amherst and suffered their first loss of the season.

Junior guard James Wang (27) and sophomore guard Nate Robertson (19) led the Ephs in scoring and first year Hayden Rooke-Ley was the top rebounder with 7.

The Ephs are one of six teams from New England in the D3Hoops.com poll with Middlebury (5th), Amherst (10th), Brandeis (13th), Western Connecticut (16th), and WPI (23rd).

Next up for the Ephs are road contests at Bates (6:00 PM) on Friday and a 2:00 PM contest at Tufts on Saturday.
