Noted author and sports columnist John Feinstein has just been honored for his game coverage of last year's NCAA Division III Men's Basketball championship game between Williams and Wisconsin-Stevens Point won by the Pointers 78-73 in Salem, Virginia.

Feinstein, who has covered many an NCAA Division I Men' Basketball Tournament game and several championship contests, was making his first pilgrimage to the Division III title tilt.

The US Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) named Feinstein's piece the GAME STORY/SPOT NEWS award winner for 2010.

A few years back in a short feature in USA Today, Feinstein selected the Williams – Amherst basketball rivalry as one of the 10 must see college games in the nation. Maybe John Feinstein will make it to Chandler Gym on Saturday afternoon for the next round in the intense, but respectful rivalry.
