HADLEY, Mass. – Williams junior guard James Wang (Sydney, Australia) earned NESCAC Player of the Week for Feb. 14, the second time this season he has been honored. He also earned the ECAC-New England division III Player of the Week award.
Wang led his squad to an undefeated mark in NESCAC play for the second-straight year over the weekend, scoring 26.5 points per game in victories over Trinity and Amherst. He made 20-of-34 from the floor (.588) and 9-of-16 from three-point range (.563) along with 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per outing.
After managing 20 points in Friday's 86-60 win over the Bantams, Wang dropped a career-high 33 points, 24 coming in the ﬁ rst half, on 13-of-21 shooting (.619) in a 74-70 decision over the rival Lord Jeffs on Saturday. He did not commit a turnover in 32 minutes of action.
Wang leads the Ephs and is third in the conference with his 18.5 points per game average. His 47.8 percent shooting from the three-point line is also third in the conference.
