MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Williams College senior captain Troy Whittington was named the D3Hoops.com Northeast Player of the Year. Whittington and junior captain and guard James Wang were both named to the Northeast Region First Team.

Previously Whittington was named the 2011 NESCAC Player of the Year and he and Wang were both named to the All-NESCAC First Team.

Whittington leads the nation in field goal percentage (70.9%), making 163 of 230. Whittington went 11 for 11 from free throw line in win at Springfield and 10-10 on field goals vs. Trinity on first round of NESCAC Tournament. His 10 field goal attempts led him to a career-high 31 points.
Whittington owns the Ephs most impressive double-double this season, scoring 21 points and tying the Ephs single game rebound mark with 21 in a win over Hamilton.
Whittington scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Sweet 16 win over Virginia Wesleyan recording his 12th double-double of the year. He has played in 27 of 31 games to date, missing four with an injury. Currently he ranks 7th all-time in rebounding for Ephs with 571.
James Wang became the 29th Eph to score 1,000 points this past January. Wang is only the second Eph to score 500 points in consecutive seasons, 554 (2010) & 575 (2011).
Wang's 575 points this season is 4th best all-time at Williams. He netted a career-high 33 points in the 74-70 win over Amherst at home with 24 coming in the first half.
Wang has 274 career assists to rank 10th all-time at Williams.
