MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Williams College senior center Troy Whittington and junior guard James Wang, both tri-captains for the Ephs have earned All-America honors from

Whittington claimed First Team honors while Wang was selected to the Third Team, becoming the third Eph duo to be named to the All-America Team (along with Michael Crotty and Ben Coffin in '04, and Blake Schultz and James Wang in '10).

This marks the second time this season that Whittington has been accorded First Team All-America recognition as he was also named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) team.

Whittington, a dominant force on both ends of the court, averaged 16.5 points a and 8.9 rebounds a game for the 29-3 Ephs and posted 12 double-doubles, with his most impressive outing a 21-point, 21-rebound game vs. Keene State. The 21 rebounds in a game tied the Eph single game record held by Ben Coffin '04 and Brandt Johnson '87.

Wang led the Ephs in scoring on the year netting 18.4 points a game and posting the fourth highest single season point total (589) in Eph history. A year ago Wang tallied 575 points and his is just the second Eph to record 500-point seasons in consecutive years joining Michael Nogelo '98 who did it three years in a row on his way to 2,002 points. began selecting All-America Teams in 1998, and since then 6 Ephs have earned 8 selections, tied for 3rd most by any program.  Whittington joins select company by being only the fourth Williams player ever to earn First Team honors from the website, along with Michael Nogelo in 1998, Michael Crotty in 2004, and Blake Schultz in 2010.
