Last season the Williams College men's basketball team played a national quarterfinal contest in the Salem [VA] Civic Center on March 22 and lost to St. Thomas (MN) 82-79, but since that trip the Ephs have returned to Virginia twice and rattled off five straight wins, including two last week in the NCAA Tournament when they downed Albertus Magnus and Mary Washington.
Making their fourth trip to the Commonwealth of Virginia in less than a year, the Ephs will face archrival Amherst on Friday night Mar. 21 in the Salem Civic Center at 8:30 PM in a national semifinal contest.
The Ephs gathered outside of Lansing Chapman Rink to bus over to the Albany Airport, departing campus at 4:00PM.
Thursday the Ephs and the other three semifinalists will engage in a morning community service project. That afternoon the teams will practice, participate in a media session, and have their official team photo taken in the Salem Civic Center.
From 7-9:00 PM all four teams will gather at the Salem Civic Center for the Student-Athlete Dinner, which will be followed by a mandatory meeting for coaches, ADs, SIDs, the Tournament Committee and representatives from Salem and the hosts Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
