DANBURY, CT – Williams College senior and captain Dan Wohl has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2015 Division III New England Men's Basketball All-Star First Team in a vote by the region's coaches.
The ECAC First Team selection is Wohl's third all-region award this season.
"As a coach, it makes you proud when young men get recognized for their hard work, effort, and leadership," noted Eph head coach Kevin App. "Daniel Wohl could not be more deserving of All-ECAC New England. He has been a valuable member of our basketball program and the entire Williams College community for four years. Most importantly, he has shown others how much Williams College means to him, and how you can be successful as a person, student, and athlete at Williams. He will be missed."
Previously Wohl was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Northeast Region Second Team and he was a Second Team All-Northeast Region D3Hoops.com honoree as well.
Wohl ended his career in the Purple Valley ranked 13th in scoring with 1,278 points and he was eighth in rebounds with 625. This season Wohl started all 25 games and a year ago he set the Williams single season record for starts by starting in all 33 games.
Wohl, the second leading scorer in NESCAC and the Ephs' leading scorer this season with 493 points (19.7/game) was previously named to the All-NESCAC First Team.
Thirteen times this season Wohl netted 20 or more points. This season he finished fourth in NESCAC in rebounding with 8.6/game.
In all, Wohl led the Eph team in six categories including points (493), rebounds (214), minutes (807), free throws made (115), steals (23), and blocks (19).
Wohl, a double major in history and economics, was the lone New England player to be named a Capital One Academic All-American as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
