WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The NESCAC has released the tournament seeds and pairings for the 2018 Men's Basketball Championship and this year the conference tiebreaker had to be used as five teams tied for first place in regular season play.
Williams, Amherst, Wesleyan, Hamilton and Middlebury all finished the year with a record of 7-3 in NESCAC.
Kevin App's Williams Ephs (19-5/7-3 NESCAC) have been seeded second and will host seventh-seeded Trinity (15-9/4-6 NESCAC) on Saturday at 3:00 PM.

In the regular season matchup in Hartford on January 26 the Ephs downed the Bantams 75-58 behind 34 points from James Heskett, 12 from Bobby Casey and 11 from Cole Teal. The Bantams' Eric Gendron was the lone Trinity player to record double figures and he netted 18 points.
Williams held Trinity scoreless over the final 4:44 of the contest.
Williams is 3-1 in February, while Trinity will enter Chandler Gym 1-3 in February.

* Amherst, Williams, Hamilton, Wesleyan and Middlebury all finished with identical conference records of 7-3. In head-to-head competition, Amherst went 3-1, Williams, Hamilton and Wesleyan went 2-2, and Middlebury went 1-3. As a result, Amherst earned the No. 1 seed and Middlebury earned the No. 5 seed. When comparing head-to-head results between Williams, Hamilton and Wesleyan, Williams went 2-0, Hamilton went 1-1 and Wesleyan went 0-2, so Williams earned the No. 2 seed, Hamilton earned the No. 3 seed and Wesleyan earned the No. 4 seed.
~ Trinity, Bowdoin and Bates all finished with identical conference records of 4-6. In head-to-head competition, the three teams all went 1-1. All three teams won four conference games. In comparing records against the teams in the top 4, including all teams tied for 4th, Trinity went 2-3, Bowdoin went 1-4, and Bates went 0-5. As a result, Trinity earned the No. 7 seed and Bowdoin earned the No. 8 seed.
