WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — The Williams College men's basketball team was selected to host first and second round games of the 2018 NCAA Div. III Tournament, it was announced Monday.
Williams (22-5), the 2018 NESCAC Tournament champions, will host MASCAC champion Bridgewater State (18-9) Friday at 7:30 p.m. Ramapo University (21-6), winners of the New Jersey Athletic Tournament Title, will play Moravian College (20-7), the Landmark Conference champion, at 5:30 p.m. in the other first round contest in Williamstown.
The Ephs are making their 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and they are 46-14 all-time in NCAA play. They have advanced to 8 Final Fours, winning the 2003 NCAA title.
Sixteen sites will host four teams for first and second-round competition. Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional-round sites March 9-10. Winners of the four sectional games will advance to the semi-finals and finals March 16-17. All games, except the semi-finals and finals, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions while the Final Four will take place at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va.
