Nick Giard joined Kevin App’s staff in the summer of 2017 and is now in his second season.

In 2017-18, Giard helped guide the Ephs to a 23-6 record, a NESCAC Tournament Championship, a share of the NESCAC Regular Season Championship, and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Prior to Williams, Giard spent two years as the Director of Basketball Operations at Southern Illinois Edwardsville (SIUE). While at SIUE, Giard was responsible for team travel, managing the budget, video operations, summer camps, community service, and other program logistics.

Giard was also a graduate assistant at the University of South Florida (USF) from 2013-15. At USF, Giard had the opportunity to work under two different staffs, one season with Stan Heath and the other with Orlando Antigua.

As an undergraduate, Giard was a member of the Michigan State basketball program as a walk-on player in 2010-11, playing for legendary coach Tom Izzo on a team that appeared in the NCAA Tournament that season.

"We're thrilled to add Coach Giard to our program and welcome him to Williamstown," stated Kevin App. “His experience as a coach and player will seamlessly allow him to mentor and teach our student-athletes."

A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Giard earned a Bachelor’s Degree in General Management from the Eli Broad School of Business at Michigan State in 2013, as well as a Master of Arts in Physical Education from South Florida in 2015.
