Josh Hillman

Josh Hillman enters his 14th season as the Head Men's Golf Coach at Williams College in 2025-26. He is just the fourth Head Golf Coach/Head Golf Professional in the history of Williams College and Taconic Golf Club.

Hillman, an accomplished player himself, won 11 PGA Section Championships and competed in numerous PGA National Championships. In 2003, 2004 and 2005, Hillman competed at the PGA Tour Qualifying School (Q-School), advancing to the second stage in 2003.

Hillman’s specific areas of expertise include instruction, recruitment, player development, tournament management, club relations and competing. He earned The Northeastern New York (NENY) PGA Section's Bill Strausbaugh Award in 2025. In 2019, he was recognized as the NENY Section's Golf Professional of the Year, while being named NESCAC Coach of the Year in 2016-17.

“My passion is helping students enjoy the game and enjoy the process of getting better," said Hillman. "The time a student spends at college is special. My goal is to have each team member walk away from Williams with lifelong friends and great memories. To me, that is success."

In 2013 and 2017, Hillman guided the Ephs to first-place finishes in the NESCAC Championship. In 2017, they went on to finish 16th at the NCAA Division III Championship. 

Under Hillman, Sam Goldenring '20 established himself as the top male golfer in NCAA Division III by winning medalist honors at the 2019 NCAA Championship. Goldenring was named to the Division III PING All-America First Team (2019), Third Team (2020) and Honorable Mention Team (2017). Grant Raffel '17 and Jack Coyne '18 earned All-American Honorable Mention accolades in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Hillman resides in Williamstown, Massachusetts, with his wife, Angie, and son, Jacob. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies in 2000.
