The 2022-2023 season will be Brandon Gruver’s 7th year with the Williams College Track & Field program.  This season marks his first as the Acting Head Coach of Men’s Track & Field.
 
In his first six seasons, Gruver served as an assistant coach for Ephs teams who have accumulated 5 NCAA Podium team finishes and one team National title. He has worked primarily with field event athletes. While leading the team’s Pole Vaulters and Throwers, the Ephs have accumulated 22 Williams All-Time Top-10 marks, including school records in the Women’s Indoor Pole Vault, Men’s Indoor Pole Vault, Women’s Outdoor Pole Vault, and Women’s Javelin. He has also coached 5 NESCAC Champions, and 7 NCAA qualifiers and two All-Americans in the jumping events.
 
Gruver has also worked with a distinguished group of combined event athletes at Williams, who have combined for 4 school records, 23 Williams All-Time Top-10 marks, 14 NCAA Qualifiers and 10 All-American honors including 1 NCAA Champion.
 
In addition to Track & Field Coaching duties, Gruver has served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Ephs, and directs the strength and conditioning programs for the Williams Track & Field athletes.

Before coming to Williams, Gruver served two years as an assistant coach at the University of Montana where he coached pole vaulters, and assisted with sprints, jumps and combined events training. Prior to Montana, Gruver began his career as an assistant coach at Bates College. At Bates Gruver worked with the pole vaulters, sprinters, jumpers, multi-event athletes and served as the team’s strength and conditioning coach.

Gruver is a graduate of Springfield College, where he earned a B.S. in Applied Exercise Science.  He also holds a Master’s Degree in Health and Human Performance from the University of Montana. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, holds Specialist Certifications in the Jumping and Throwing events through the USTFCCCA, and is a USATF Registered Coach.
