Williams College Men’s Hockey Moves Up to 12th in National Poll

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Bill Kangas's Williams College men's hockey team (7-2-1/NESCAC 4-1-1) opened the post-holiday break portion of it's schedule with wins in Minnesota over Gustavus Adolphus College and St. Olaf College and have jumped up two places in the USCHO.com national poll.

Overall the Ephs have won three games in a row. This weekend the Ephs will return to NESCAC play when they take to the road to play at Wesleyan on Friday night at 7:00 PM and then on Saturday take on first place Trinity at 4:00 PM.

The Ephs are averaging 3.6 goals a game, while allowing 2.30 per game. Williams is the least penalized team in NESCAC with just 6.3 minutes per contest.

Senior Craig Kitto and freshman C.J. Shugart lead the Ephs in scoring. Kitto has five goals and six assists for 13 points, while Shugart has a team-high six goals and has assisted on five for 11 points.

Senior goalie Sean Dougherty has played the majority of minutes in goal with 484.55 and has allowed 17 goals for a goals against average of 2.10. Dougherty has fashioned a 5-2-1 record and owns a save percentage of .912.

The USCHO.com Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 20 voters, including coaches and hockey writers from across the country.
