WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The Williams College men's ice hockey team (12-4-2/8-3-1) has six regular season contests remaining on their schedule and all six are NESCAC encounters.
Two of the remaining games will be against teams ranked ahead of the Ephs in the national polls.
If the Ephs hope to improve their national standing in the USCHO.com and D3hockey polls this is the time to make some noise. Friday the Ephs will host Little Three foe Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday they play NESCAC's first place team Trinity at home in Lansing Chapman Rink at 3:00 p.m. Trinity is ranked 4th in the USCHO.com poll and the Bantams are sixth in the D#Hockey.com poll.
The Ephs are tied for 13th in the USCHO.com poll with Wisconsin Eau Claire after losing at Conn College and winning at Tufts last weekend. The Ephs were 11th the previous week in the USCHO.com poll.
The USCHO.com poll has six New England teams in the top fifteen. Norwich remains at number one, while Trinity is 4th, Babson 7th, UMass Boston 9th, Amherst 11th, and the Ephs are 13th.
The D3hockey.com poll has the Ephs ranked 15th after having been slotted 14th the week before.
Senior forward Craig Kitto continues to lead the Ephs in goals scored (10) and points (20), while sophomore forward Tyler Young is tops in assists with 12. Senior goalie Sean Dougherty has a goals against average of 2.21 in 600 minutes in goal. Dougherty is 9-4-1 this season.
Next weekend the Ephs will play a home and home series with Middlebury before closing out the season on the road at Hamilton and at Amherst.. The Ephs will conclude their 2015 regular season on the road against archrival and current second place NESCAC team, Amherst, on the 21st at 3:00 p.m.
