WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The Williams College men's ice hockey team (13-5-2/9-4-1 NESCAC) has slipped one place in the USCHO.com poll to 14th and out of the top 15 in the D3Hockey.com poll.
D3Hockey.com has the Ephs first among other teams receiving votes after the Ephs split a pair of home NESCAC encounters over the weekend. The Ephs edged Wesleyan 2-1, but then lost to first place Trinity 3-1.Trinity is currently ranked fourth in the USCHO.com poll.
Seniors Sean Dougherty and Craig Kitto lead the Ephs and both were recently announced as semi-finalists for the Joe Concannon award. This marks the third time netminder Sean Dougherty has been a semi-finalist, while this is Kitto's first time.
Dougherty is 10-5-1 this season and sports a .920 save percentage and has a goals allowed average of 2.12 this season.
Kitto leads the Ephs in goals scored with 10 including one game-winner and four power play scores. He is also tied for the team-high in assists with sophomore Tyler Young and senior David Jarrett with 12.
The Ephs have four games remaining in the regular season and three of those games will be on the road.
This Friday night the Ephs will travel to Middlebury and then on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Williams will host Middlebury in Lansing Chapman Rink.
The following weekend the Ephs will close the regular season with a road game Friday at Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. and a Saturday contest at 3:00 p.m. versus archrival Am
