WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Currently the Williams College men's ice hockey team is 14-6-2/10-5-1 NESCAC and still ranked 14th nationally in the USCHO.com poll.
Bill Kangas's Ephs have two NESCAC games remaining in the regular season. Williams will be at Hamilton on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and at Amherst on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
The Ephs sit third in the NESCAC standings, but a sweep of their two road games this weekend and two losses at home for Amherst to Middlebury Friday and Williams Saturday would lift the Ephs into second place heading into the NESCAC Tournament beginning Feb. 28.
Back in December the Ephs hosted Hamilton and Amherst in Lansing Chapman Rink and they lost to Hamilton 5-2 and then defeated Amherst 4-3 the next day.
This past weekend the Ephs were shutout at Middlebury 2-0, but the turned the tables on the Panthers the next night in Lansing Chapman, claiming a 4-3 win on a late third period goal by senior Craig Kitto.
Kitto's game-winner was his team-best 11th tally on the year and his second game-winner. He also leads the Ephs in assists with 14 and in points with 25..
