First Year Michael Pinios chosen NESCAC Men's Hockey Player of the Week

HADLEY, MA — Williams College first year Michael Pinios (Montreal, Que.) has been selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Hockey Player of the Week for play ending Sunday, Jan. 10.

Pinios was outstanding in net as the Ephs defeated conference rivals, Trinity and Wesleyan, last weekend. He played all 120 minutes and stopped 56 of 59 shots, including all 12 shots in the third period of a 3-1 win over the Cardinals. He had a .950 save percentage and a 1.50 goals against average for the week to help Williams move into first place in the NESCAC standings.

Pinios has allowed only seven goals in 418 minutes and 51 seconds this season and leads the conference with a 1.00 goals against average. His save percentage of .958 is second in the NESCAC.
