Former Eph soccer captain, midfielder, and four-year letterman Nick Pugliese '12 has returned from Afghanistan to his hometown of Rochester, NY, from a successful year of competing in the Kabul Premier League.

Kevin Baxter writing on December 20 for the Los Angeles Times authored the feature on Pugliese.

Now that Pugliese is back in the USA you can expect to hear more about his extraordinary soccer experience in Afghanistan that started with him taking a job in Kabul with a telecommunications firm and playing some pickup soccer.

Nick's love of soccer could not be stifled and he eventually left the communications firm to play professionally for Ferozi FC and compete in the Kabul Premier League.

Ferozi won the pre-season Kabul Premier League Tournament, but lost in the finals of the 2013 Kabul Premier League to Big Bear FC 1-0.

Ferozi FC utilized Pugliese primarily as a defensive midfielder this season.
