WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Senior forward Mohammed Rashid (Accra, Ghana) and senior goalie Christian Alcorn (Richmond, VA) have earned All-New England honors in a vote of the region's member coaches of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Both Eph honorees appeared in all q6 games this season for Eph head coach Erin Sullivan. Sullivan's Ephs finished with a record of 9-4-3/6-3-1 in NESCAC and advanced to the NESCAC Semifinals.
Previously both Rashid and Alcorn collected All-NESCAC honors with Rashid being named to the First Team and Alcorn was accorded Second Team recognition.
Additionally both were selected to play in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) Senior All-Star game.
Mohammed Rashid has been honored all four years by the NESCAC coaches. This season marked his first appearance on the First Team. He debuted in 2012 as a Second Team choice and was also the NESCAC Rookie of the Year. In 2013 and 2015 he earned Second Team honors. Due to injury Rashid was unable to compete in 2014.
Rashid tallied five goals and assisted on six goals this past season for a point total of 16. He played in 55 games for the Ephs, scoring 15 goals and registering 16 assists.
During the 2016 season Christian Alcorn started all 16 games and logged 1460:15 in net. He allowed 14 goals and posted a goals against average of 0.86. He stopped 44 of 58 shots he faced for a .759 save percentage and he fashioned six clean sheets.
In his career Alcorn appeared in 48 games, played 4,120:07 in goal, recorded 15 clean sheets, and stopped 148 of 190 shots for a .747 save percentage.
