MILTON, MA -- The Williams College Ephs (5-3-1) netted three goals in the first 31 minutes  of play and went on to down Curry College (6-7-1) 4-0.

The Ephs early aggressiveness paid off quickly, as a corner from Eli Petrik '21 was headed home by Jules Oberg '22 in the second minute to put Williams ahead, and they would not let up at any point afterwards.

The Ephs were physical and dominating and controlled possession for much of the match, and one way they exerted this control was through set pieces. Through Petrik's expertly placed corner kicks, the Ephs were able to score both the aforementioned first goal from Oberg and their second goal, a one-timer into the upper 90 from midfielder Greg Andreou '19 in the 12th minute.

Williams continued to press forward, recording four more shots in the next 20 minutes, including a frozen rope from outside the box by Andreou, all leading to a 32nd minute goal from Justin Adams '22 off a cross from Chris Fleischer '20 for Adams' first career college score. After several more dangerous opportunities, the first half ended with Williams leading 3-0.

Williams immediately returned to form in the second half, recording three shots and corner kick in the first 10 minutes following intermission. The Ephs added one more goal, a fast break ground ball from Bobby Fabricant '20 that slowly dribbled past substitute goalie James Crawford in the 63rd minute.

Williams almost added another off an 83rd minute rocket from Nathan Song '22 that hit the left post and bounced back into play, but otherwise, the second half was another dominant effort by Williams. In his first ever game in net, Williams goalie George Taylor '21 was relatively unbothered, but rose to the occasion when necessary, sprinting to recover stray Colonel crosses and attempts while also demonstrating strong jump ball skills.

After the match, a pleased Williams coach Erin Sullivan said, "We had a great team win today. It's always important to get an early goal but even better to see so many players contribute to the performance."

In his collegiate debut, Taylor saved both Curry shots on goal, while Colonel goalies Paul DeMaio, who played the first half, and James Crawford, who played the second half, saved four and three shots respectively.

Williams hosts the Coast Guard on Tuesday at 3:30 PM, while Curry will travel to face Nichols on Wednesday at 3 PM.
