WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Three members of Zafi Levy's Williams College men's squash team that finished second in the NESCAC Championship Tournament have been accorded All-NESCAC honors this year.
Williams senior captain John Fitzgerald has been named the 2019 NESCAC Player of the Year by the conference coaches. Fitzgerald is the second Eph men's player to earn the award, joining Ethan Buchsbaum (2010).
Fitzgerald, who plays No. 1 for the Ephs, helped Williams finish as the runner-up at the 2019 NESCAC Championship for the 10th time in program history. He earns a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team for the second year in a row after being named to the Second Team in 2016 and 2017. "I could not be more proud of John," Levy stated. "He has developed into a top level national player over the past four years."
Carl Shuck earned his second consecutive all-conference honor with his selection on the 2019 Second Team. "Carl grew a lot as a player this season," said Levy. "Although he spent the fall semester studying in Stockholm, he continued to train on his own and was ready to contribute to the team from the get go. I know that Carl will continue to train this spring and summer in order to lead the team to even better season next year." In 2018 Shuck was accorded All-NESCAC First Team laurels.
Wyatt Khosrowshahi was honored for the first time in his career when he was named to the Second Team. "Wyatt, is probably the hardest working player on our team," Levy commented. "Over the past two years he has transformed his game to attack more. He is definitely the most improved player on our team this season." Khosrowshahi also letters in golf for the Ephs.
