Springfield, MA – Kobe Tray represented the Williams Ephs at the Division 3 Region 3 Diving Championships this Friday and Saturday, facing off against familiar faces from the NESCAC and the rest of the Northeast.
Seventeen divers had been selected by their in-season dive scores to compete in the prestigious Regionals meet. Beginning on Friday with the three meter competition, Tray completed eleven dives in the competitive field. The first-year finished fourth overall, with a total of 470.55 points and an average score of 6.02.
In the one meter competition, Tray finished in fifth place with 451.15 points. With the top seven competitors at the Regionals meet securing a spot at NCAA Nationals, Kobe cleared the field with flying colors.
Tray will be joining thirteen other members of the Williams Men's Swimming and Diving team at the NCAA Division 3 Championship at Greensboro, N.C. in two weeks. This team represents the largest group of Ephs competing at the national level in years, with Kobe making history on the boards being the first Williams diver to be invited since Rohan Bhatt in 2014.
