MIDDLETOWN, CT – The Williams College men's tennis team had a solid start to the fall season with a 7-2 defeat of Little Three foe Wesleyan.
In singles, the Ephs won five of their six encounters with the only defeat coming at number three as Zach Weiss fell in two sets.
No singles match went to a third set.
In doubles, Williams went on to win two of the three matches. The defeat came at #2, where the duo of Felix Sun and Zach Weiss fell to the Cardinals' tandem of Rudovsky and Legunn, 8-3.
Eph head coach Dan Greenberg was pleased with his team's performance stating, "It was a well fought match by both teams with some close sets that we were able to pull out."
With this win, Williams extended their win streak over Wesleyan to 40. Wesleyan's last win in the series came in 1972 at Wesleyan when they topped the Ephs 5-2.
The Ephs will return to action on September 28th when they host the three-day ITA New England Regionals on the Torrence M. Hunt Tournament Courts Friday through Sunday.
