Men's Tennis Blanks Hamilton to Open Spring

CLINTON, NY -- The Williams men's tennis team opened their spring campaign Saturday with a  9-0 win over Hamilton.

Williams won all three doubles matches by a score of 8-2.

Freshman Brian Astrachan defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-0, and the rest of the Ephs were not far behind. Zach Weiss downed his opponent 6-1, 6-0, and his younger brother Howie won his match 6-1, 6-1.

"This was a great first match for us," said head coach Dan Greenberg. "We stayed focused and steady throughout singles and doubles against a Hamilton team with a lot of firepower. The freshmen did well in their debut and the upperclassmen showed their experience."

When asked about the team's performance, senior Thomas Daubert, said, "it's great to see the boys back in action and we're excited for a big trip to California next week for spring break."
