Springfield, MA – Late Friday evening, the Williams men's track and field team began competition at the Division III New England Championship. The Ephs contested three events to kick off the second weekend of championship season.
James Heinl and Olivier Joseph represented Williams in the hammer throw. Heinl recovered from a few early fouls to finish with a 43.62m throw, and Joseph also shook off a couple of fouls to finish with a 39.98m throw.
Tobias Muellers finished 8th overall in the long jump to snag a point for the Ephs. He finished with a 6.57m jump.
Kat Ofori-Atta and Jeremy Thaller wrapped up competition today in the 100m prelims. Ofori-Atta advanced to the final with a 11.06 second performance, and Thaller finished up with an 11.49 second performance.
Day two will feature many more performances by Ephs as they look to build off of their 2nd place finish at Division III New Englands in the indoor season.
