In the distance medley relay, the team of Benjamin Hearon '20, Chris Bassett '22, Jett Ballantyne '22, and co-captain Lucas Estrada '20 represented the Ephs well. Hearon sat back for much of his 1200 meter leg, pouncing over the last quarter mile to get the Ephs in solid position. Bassett passed a couple runners on his 400 leg, running with poise. Ballantyne kept the Ephs in close contact over his 800 meter leg, while Estrada brought things home with a quick 1600 leg, finishing 4thoverall in 10:20.52.

In the 5000, three athletes represented Williams: Jake Lange '21, co-captain Zeke Cohen '19, and Sam Gilman '21. Lange ran a bold race, running fearlessly with the leaders for as long as he could. He hung on well to finish 8thoverall, in 15:19.74. Cohen put together a quick last mile to finish 12th, in 15:28.51. Gilman, still shaking off the vestiges of an illness, ran tough, finishing 19thin 15:54.91.

At the end of the first day of the meet, the Ephs are tied for 7thoverall, with 6 points.
