HADLEY, MA – Williams College senior Liam Simpson (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was accorded Second Team All-NESCAC cross country honors with his ninth place finish in the NESCAC Championship race last weekend hosted by Bates College.
Simpson was the top finisher for the Ephs who placed fifth as a team.
"Liam has been our 'go to guy' all season, leading workouts, races, and also one of four excellent captains," noted Eph head coach Peter Farwell. "He is poised to do very well at regionals."
"The team has trained very well, competed hard on the challenging course and several exceeded expectations and really 'stepped up' in the NESCAC meet," stated Farwell. "Notably Ryan Cox as our second finisher and Jake Lange as our sixth man."
"Griffin Colaizzi has come back from injury and was our eighth man in this his first race," Farwell commented. "These runners and our other stalwarts are all looking forward to putting it all together in the NCAA New England Regional at Southern Maine."
