COMPLETE RESULTS

Boston, MA—the men's cross country team competed today at the USATF New England Regional, trying their hand at 10 kilometers at the Franklin Park course in Boston. This meet served as a chance for those runners not competing at NCAA Regionals to end their season with one final race. Competing amongst professionals, clubs, and a few other collegiate teams, the competitors more than acquitted themselves today on the muddy course.

Although the Ephs are accustomed to racing distances of 8 kilometers in the cross country season, this race was a rare opportunity for the competitors to test themselves over 10 kilometers. And the team passed, with flying colors. Jake Kahrs '19 was the first Eph across the line in 33:43, followed shortly thereafter by Jake Lange '21 in 34:01, Sam Gilman '21 in 34:19, and David Azzara '19 in 34:28.  Will Young '21 rounded out the top 5 in 34:50, followed by Walker Knauss '19 (35:09), George Arrowsmith '21 (35:23), Liam Albrittain '19 (35:34), Ryan Watson '22 (36:08), Ross Hoch '19 (36:11), Jackson Bibbens '22 (36:17), and Evan Wright '21(36:30). Co-captain Zeke Cohen '19 competed for the first time this season, rounding out the Ephs with a time of 37:50.

Head Coach Pete Farwell was excited with how his team competed, especially his seniors, saying "Today was fun. People really embraced the challenge of 10k cross country, trusted their training to get them to this point, and then really brought it home. This is a great demonstration to the rest of the team of what they're capable of in their peak meets. We had 6 seniors out there today, and I thought each of them did fantastic. I especially want to highlight Jake Kahrs, who ran a really strong race, showing that his increased mileage this season is paying off. David Azzara also knocked bunch off his best, for the third or fourth time this season. And there was a great comeback story in Zeke Cohen, coming back from surgery and then taking on the longest race of the season, running far better than anyone would have thought he'd do."

The Ephs will return to competition next Saturday, November 10, at the NCAA New England Regional, hosted by Bowdoin.
