Johnson & Wales blanks Williams, 9-0

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- In the first round of NCAA regionals Johnson & Wales sophomore pitcher Jennifer Corona threw a 2 hitter against Williams College to lead her team to a 9-0 victory. The Wildcats record improves to 32-10 while the Ephs fall to 32-10.

J&W advances to face MIT in a 10:45 a.m. Williams will play Western Connecticut at 1:15 p.m.

Against Williams, the Wildcats scored in sets of three runs today, driving in three  runs in the first, second, and fourth inning of the game. Just two Williams hitters--  Kacey Cramer and Mackenzie Murphy -- were able to record hits against Corona, and the Ephs went down in 5 innings.

J&W juniors Emily Gorecki and Emily Schaper went 3 for 3 on the day, each blasting home runs and combining for 5 RBI.
