HADLEY, MA. — Sophomore pitcher/outfielder Rebecca Duncan (Simi Valley, CA) has been selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for play ending Sunday, April 8.
Duncan went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA on the week. In a 12-0 win over Wesleyan, she had a perfect game through four innings and finished with a one-hit shutout. She did not walk a batter while striking out six in the five-inning game. She also batted .556 for the week with three home runs and eight RBIs, while scoring five runs and stealing a base. She had a .600 on-base percentage and a 1.556 slugging percentage as the Ephs swept the Cardinals in a three-game series.
The right-hander is currently 8-2 with a 1.38 ERA from the circle this season. In 61 1/3 innings, she has allowed 49 hits and 10 walks while striking out 65 batters. She is hitting .407 this season to date with 3 home runs and 15 RBI.
Williams, 18-4 overall and 5-1 in the NESCAC West, will host RPI Wednesday for a twinbill beginning at 3:30 p.m.
