Rebecca Duncan Earns District I Academic Honors; Advances to Ballot for Academic All-America Honors

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. – Williams College senior pitcher/utility player Rebecca Duncan has been named to the CoSIDA Academic District I NCAA DIII First Team as a pitcher. With her selection as a member of the First Team Duncan will now advance to the ballot for Academic All-America consideration to be voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

With the cancellation of the spring season before many teams were even able to begin play this year's All-District teams were selected based on career totals. The minimum cumulative GPA for honors from CoSIDA is 3.30. Duncan, however, has been named the maximum three times to the NESCAC All-Academic team that requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. The English/Pre-Med major from Simi Valley, Calif., was a 3-time National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFPCA) All-Region 1st Team and All-NESCAC 1st Team honoree. In 2018 Duncan was named the NESCAC Pitcher of the Year and in  2017 she was accorded NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors.

In 80 games in the circle for the Ephs, Duncan logged 49 starts and compiled a record of 49 wins, 13 losses, and she notched four saves. Her career ERA is 1.71 in 393.3 innings. She struck out an average of 6.41 batters per seven innings, 360 total, and issued 99 walks.

In 134 games as both a pitcher and a utility player Duncan batted .363 with 137 hits in 377 at bats. Of her 45 extra base hits 28 were doubles, one was 3B, and she belted 16 HRs. Duncan drove in 76 runs, and posted a .570 slugging percentage.
