 COMPLETE RESULTS

Hanover, NH -- The Dartmouth Carnival started off with a bang yesterday when the giant slalom race was cancelled due to precarious snow conditions. The snowy, rainy, and cold weather provided a treacherous, icy surface and the conditions were deemed to be unsafe for racing. Hopefully a giant slalom race will be added next Sunday after the Middlebury Carnival.

This morning the wind was howling, but the sun was out as racers hit the slopes for the slalom race. The lift was unable to start, but thanks to the amazing Dartmouth Skiway groomers, racers were brought up to the start by snow cat.

The Williams Alpine skiers had some of this seasons best results on the womens team.  Sophomore Anna Bruce skied to a personal best 10th place today.  Following close behind was Senior Hannah Hunsaker in 13th.  Senior Gibson Donnan finished 37th and Freshman Nadine Levey finished 48th.

On the mens side, Junior Will Kannegieser finished an impressive 19th place.  Senior Charlie Harrison placed 29th, Sophomore Will Snyder placed 37th and Junior Cole Janco placed 41st. Assistant Coach Jeremy Lawless commented on the team's great performance today: "It was a highlight to see some great individual results from Anna Bruce, with her first top 10 of the season and Hannah Hunsaker, with her first top 15 of the season. Will Kannegieser threw down a great second run and Charlie Harrison scored another top 30 result. I thought the mental fortitude of the athletes today was commendable due to not having lift access and variable wind conditions."

The womens team finished 6th in the 13 team field and the mens team finished 9th

The Williams Alpine team will race at the Middlebury Carnival next weekend.
