RIPTON, VT – This weekend's carnival, hosted by Middlebury, is a feisty one. The weather woke up this morning on the wrong side of the bed and decided to not cooperate. The wet and warm conditions made waxing skis tricky but the WILLIAMS NORDIC team know they can always count on their prestigious wax techs and coaches Jason Lemieux and Garrett Garberich to put their best foot forward.

The men started the day with a 15k mass start classic race. After completing the three-lap course, senior Braden Becker led the WILLIAMS NORDIC men into the finish, coming in a solid 6th place. Closely following Braden was freshman Isaac Freitas-Eagan in 9th and junior Jack Consenstein in 10th. Putting three men in the top 10 has been a goal for a long time and it is phenomenal to see dreams being reached. These results cumulated in a tie for second place for the WILLIAMS NORDIC men's team! Podium finishes are so sweet unlike any other.

After the men finished up, the women commenced their 10k mass start classic race. Junior Ingrid Thyr led the Ephwomen to a finish in 23rd place. Senior captain Sonya Jampel and sophomore Magdalen York followed behind in 31st and 32nd place, respectively. While the WILLIAMS NORDIC women went into the day hoping for better results, they look forward to tomorrow.

Tomorrow the WILLIAMS NORDIC team will participate in an individual start skate race at the Rikert Center in Ripton, VT.
