MENS COMPLETE RESULTS

STOWE, VT – Here we are at NCAA Championships in beautiful Stowe, Vermont! With temperatures in the mid teens and the sun shining in the sky, conditions make for some beautiful skiing.

Today was the first day of racing at NCAA Championships. Senior Braden Becker and freshman Isaac Freitas-Eagan participated in the 10k individual start skate race. With only 40 of America's top racers competing, competition was tight on the race course. After completing the course, freshman Isaac Freitas-Eagan finished in 28th place. Right behind Freitas-Eagan was teammate Becker in 29th place. With a mere 3 seconds between the two WILLIAMS NORDIC men, it is impressive how close their results were.

Head coach Jason Lemieux comments, "Isaac skied a really aggressive race today and was in the top 10 through 3k. The field is extremely competitive and although he finished in 28th position he was only about 30 seconds from a top five finish and from being the top skier from the east, which is as close as he's been all season to that level of performance. As a freshman it's a great start to his NCAA Championships career and I'm excited that he is gaining this experience.

Braden fought hard out there and sked well over portions of the race course. He's still battling an illness that is holding him back a bit, but he left it all out there on the course and did his best with the hand he was dealt today.

Both Braden and Isaac are fired up for Friday's 20K Mass Start Classic Race!"

Becker and Freitas-Eagan look forward to Friday the 8th when they will be competing in a 20k mass start classic race. The two WILLIAMS NORDIC men look forward to wrapping up their 2019 race season with a bang.
