Stowe, VT – The Williams Alpine Team returned to Stowe Mountain today for the second day of the UVM carnival. Once again the tricky terrain proved to be too difficult for many racers and there were a lot of skiers in the field who did not make it to the finish line. But, the Ephs showed strong skiing and ended the day with some of the best results of the season. Both the mens and the womens team finished 6thin the 13 team alpine field!
Juniors Maddie Dekko and Anna Bruce had outstanding results today finishing 9th and 13th respectively. The juniors led 5 women into the top 50 today with senior Clara Hathorne finishing 40th, freshman Claudia Cantin finishing 43rd and sophomore Hannah Trudeau finishing 47th.
Three men skied into the top 30 today! Senior Will Kannegieser led the team with a tremendous 19th place followed by senior Ryan Schmidt and junior Will Snyder in 20th and 30th place respectively. "I thought that the team came out swinging hard for the most physically demanding and intimidating slalom on the EISA circuit" Assistant Coach Charlie Harrison said. "I was very pleased to see several team members solidify their membership in the top 30 finishers today."
The Ephs will travel to Sugarloaf Maine next weekend (1/31 – 2/1) for the Colby Carnival.
