WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — Pat Manning's women's basketball team has earned an at-large berth into the 2010 NCAA Div. III Tournament and will travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on Mount St. Mary College in a first round contest Friday.
The Ephs (18-7) received one of 21 Pool C bids into the tournament. They were one of five NESCAC teams to qualify for the tournament. Williams last played Feb. 20, losing 70-63 to Bates in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. The Ephs will be making their 5th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, all under Manning. They are 5-4 (.556) in tournament play.

The other game at the Ithaca pod will feature DeSales University (18-9) against the host Bombers (22-5), also on Friday. The winners will meet Saturday at 7 p.m. in a second-round contest.
Junior Chessie Jackson leads the Ephs with a 14.7 points per game average and is second on the team with 5.7 rebounds per game. Sophomore point guard Jill Greenberg is second on the team with a 10.3 ppg. and tops with 111 assists. Sophomore Lisa Jaris averages 9.5 ppg. and 5.2 rpg. Junior Taylor Shea leads the Ephs with 6.5 rpg.
The Blue Knights (22-5) last played Sunday, when they dropped a 67-58 decision to Farmingdale State in the Skyline Conference Tournament Championship game.
