Ephs earn NCAA bid; will face Muhlenberg in Rochester, N.Y.

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — The Williams College women's basketball team was awarded for its 21-5 record today when it received an at-large berth out of Pool C into the NCAA Div. III Tournament.

The University of Rochester women will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Basketball Tournament this Friday and Saturday. Williams (21-5) will play Muhlenberg (21-5) matchup at 6 p.m. The Yellowjackets will face Daniel Webster University of New Hampshire at 8 pm. The winners of Friday's games will play Saturday at 7 pm for the right to go to the Sweet 16.

Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for UR students with ID.

This is the sixth time in program history Williams has earned an NCAA Tournament berth, and the second consecutive season. This was also the seventh time the Ephs have cracked 20 wins in a season.

Williams is 7-5 in its NCAA Tournament history, reaching the "Elite 8" in 1999 and the "Sweet 16" in 2006 and 2010.

Muhlenberg College (PA) earned a spot in the NCAA tournament by winning the Centennial Conference championship, 72-61, over Johns Hopkins in Baltimore Sunday. It was the Mules sixth Centennial Conference championship.
