WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS-- After a full week of good water time on Lake Onota, the Williams Women's Crew Team is ready for the last race day of the regular season. This Sunday, May 12th, the whole team will head to Lake Quinsigamond for the National Invitational Rowing Championships. This qualifying regatta is the opportunity for the team to earn the NESCAC or at-large bid to Nationals. They will be fielding 5 boats: 1V, 2V, 3V, 4V, and an open 4+. All boats will go through heats in order to place into a Grand or Petit final. For the eights, the top 2 boats in each heat will advance to the Grand Final; for the four, the top 3 boats advance to Grands.
The four will start off the day with their heat at 8:20am. The 4V and 3V will get to line up in the same heat at 9:10am, followed by the 2V at 10:20am and the 1V at 11:20am. It's predicted to be around 50 degrees, with wind hovering around 5mph. Cross your fingers for good water for WWC, and tune in to watch them burn it to the ground!
