Julia Mini and Samantha Lazar Garner NESCAC Honors

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. – Two members of Kate Maloney's 2018-19 Williams College women's crew team have been awarded All-NESCAC honors in a vote by the conference coaches.

"When you look up the word determination, there should be a picture of Julia," stated Maloney. "She has been on a mission this year to gain fitness and technical ability. Every time there was a personal goal to be reached, Julia met it with speed to spare. This is why she is an all-NESCAC athlete. She has embodied the ethos of a varsity athlete who defines the high level of excellence to be among the best in the league."

Sophomore Smantha Lazar (Orchard Park, NY) earned Second Team honors. In her two years on the team, Sam has made a big impression. She is a steadfast worker and a great example of what consistent, focused hard work can do.  She is a role model to the younger athletes and an inspiration to the older athletes. She is quiet and determined and pretty much unflappable which made her a great stroke for the 1V this year. I look forward to her continued development over the next two years!"
