HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL -- The Williams College women's golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule with a dual match versus Oglethorpe University at the Mission Inn Resort Club Las Colinas Golf Course on Sunday.
Williams, entered ranked sixth in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association's latest NCAA DIII poll, while Oglethorpe entered the match ranked 23rd.
Par is 72 on the Las Colinas 6,385-yard layout.
Both schools fielded one 5-player team and four players competing as individuals for the event and the Eph team of Cori Chan, Holly Davenport, Joanna Kim, Olivia White and Stella Woo won the event with a team score of 315. Chan and Woo tied for medalist honors with each carding a 78 on the day. Joanna Kim shot 79, Olivia White shot 80 and Holly Davenport carded an 88.
The Oglethorpe team of Ana Garcia, Katie Hanley, Alivia Mattiace, Mara Tiger, and Hailey Willman posted a team score of 331. Willman and Mattiace led Oglethorpe carding 82s. Mara Tiger shot 83 and Katie Hanley and Ana Garcia both shot 84.
The Ephs will stay in Flrodia for the remainder of the week to practice and they will return to campus this weekend in preparation for the resumptions of the second semester after this spring break.
Williams will next be in action on April 20 when they travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to compete in the Vassar College Invitational.
