HADLEY, MA – Williams College sophomore goalie Margaret Draper (Belmont, MA) was named the NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week for posting consecutive shutouts last week. Draper's two shutouts delivered a 2-0-0 week for the Ephs and lifted their season record to 3-3-0 heading into winter break.
In a 3-0 win over Salve Regina on the road Friday night, Draper turned aside 24 shots and then she followed that up two days later with another 3-0 win over Manhattanville. At home against the Valiants, Draper was called on to make 25 saves for the win and the shutout.
To date Draper is 3-1-0 between the pipes, sports a 1.52 goals against average, and owns a save percentage of .943.
Draper, who also played in goal for the Eph field hockey team in the fall, is currently tied for third nationally in shutouts and 10th nationally in save percentage.
