WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Just two seasons into her ice hockey career at Williams College and sophomore defenseman Hanna Beattie (Whitehouse Station, NJ) is continuing to pile up the post-season honors.
Beattie was just named to the 2015 New England Hockey Writers Division II-III All-Star team in voting by the Division II/III coaches and respective media outlets throughout New England.
This year's All-New England banquet will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass.
Previously this season Beattie had garnered her second consecutive First Team All-NESCAC honor.
In 2014 Beattie was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year and was honored by the American Hockey Coaches Association with a First Team All-America honor along with teammate Cristina Bravi.
"Hanna has a great work ethic, competitiveness, and always puts the team first," said Eph head coach Meghan Gillis. "It is nice to see her recognized as an All-New England honoree for her contributions to our team."
Beattie, a standout two-way player, anchored the Ephs' defense and led the Eph offense this season from the blue line, notching three goals and posting a team high 13 assists for a team-leading 16 points.
Playing in all 25 games this season and all 28 games her first season, Beattie is averaging just under a point a game. She has scored 17 goals and has registered 31 assists, giving her 48 points in 53 games.
