Ephs Headed to Amherst Saturday for First Round of NESCAC Tournament

WILIAMSTOWN, MA – Meghan Gillis' Williams College women's ice hockey team (10-7-7/4-6-6 NESCAC) will take to the road on Saturday to play at Amherst College (14-6-4/9-4-3 NESCAC) in the first round of the NESCAC Tournament. The game will start at 1:00 PM.

Williams is the No. 6 seed for the fourth time overall and first time since 2015. The Ephs rank third in the conference in scoring with 64 goals. Williams is looking to make the semifinals for the first time since 2014, the same year the Ephs captured their lone NESCAC title.

Amherst has the second best offense in the conference, scoring 72 goals, including 18 power-play tallies. The Mammoths have been the NESCAC Runner-Up the past two seasons and own three NESCAC Championships, the last coming in 2010.

The Mammoths earned a sweep in the regular season series with victories by the score of 3-1 at home and 5-3 in Williamstown, Mass.

Amherst and Williams have only faced each other once in the NESCAC tournament. The Mammoths registered a 3-2 overtime home win in the 2007 quarterfinals.
