HADLEY, MA – Williams College sophomore forward Meghan Halloran (Darien Conn.) was named the NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week for play ending Sunday, December 9. It's the second time in three weeks that Halloran has earned the award.
Halloran scored two goals and assisted on another Saturday as the Ephs topped No. 3 Elmira, 4-2, on their home sheet. She assisted on one of two Williams goals in a 2-2 tie with Castleton earlier in the week, and capped her week with an assist in the Ephs' 3-1 victory over Manhattanville Sunday.
Halloran currently leads the Ephs with 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists) through nine games. She leads the conference with 1.67 points per game. The 6-2-1 Ephs are off until 2019, when they play at Bowdoin January 4-5.
"What Meghan did this week was really impressive," Ephs' head coach Meghan Gillis said. "To put up those types of numbers against a top 5 nationally ranked team, plus other formidable competition shows her true ability. I know she has another level that she is yet to hit and I am excited to see what she brings in the new year."
