WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Meghan Gillis' Williams College women's ice hockey team has climbed into the USCHO.com National Top 10 National Poll on the strength of its recent run of success.
The Ephs are ranked 10th after losing just once in their last eight outings and improving their overall record to 9-3-1. Williams is 5-3-0 in NESCAC play.
Elmira College is the top ranked team with an overall record of 12-2-1. Williams pinned a 4-2 loss on the Elmira College Soaring Eagles back on December 8 when the two teams met in Williamstown.

In their recent seven-game skein of no losses that included six wins and a tie the Ephs out scored their opponents 23-6.
The Ephs did lose their last time out when Colby College edged them 3-2 on the Ephs' home ice in Lansing Chapman Rink. Overall the Ephs have fashioned a 6-2-1 record at home and they are 3-1-0 on the road.
The Eph attack features three players with at least 13 points on the season. Sophomore forward Meghan Halloran and senior forward Annie Rush lead the team with seven goals each. Halloran has recorded a team best 12 assists to lead the Ephs with 19 points. Rush has registered six assists to give her 13 points this winter.
Senior forward Abby Brustad also has 13 points to date on four goals and nine assists.
First year goalie Chloe Heiting has logged the most minutes in goal thus far (496:36) and she has stopped 172 of the 183 shots she has faced for a save percentage of .940. Heiting has posted two shutouts and sports a 7-1-0 record.
The Ephs have scored 12 times on 48 power play opportunities, while allowing but 11 goals by their opponents on 56 power plays. The Eph penalty kill unit has a success percentage of .804.
Williams has scored 2.85 goals a game, while allowing 1.85 goals per contest.
Next up for the Ephs is a road contest January 15 when they head to Newport, R.I. to play the Ospreys of Salve Regina University at 7:00 PM.
