McGovern Earns Regional and National Honors in Lacrosse

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- In her senior campaign, Williams women's lacrosse tri-captain Rebecca McGovern (Weymouth, Mass.) was named All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) First Team, Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Lacrosse Second Team All-Star, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Berkshire All-Region First Team, and Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Second Team All-American.

The accolades follow a strong Ephs' season, ending in the third round of the NCAA tournament. McGovern helped lead the way with a team- and career-high 35 goals and 42 ground balls. McGovern was second on the Eph team in points with 48 (13 assists).

At the midfield position, McGovern's 35 goals this season placed her 10th in the NESCAC, and with her 13 assists she finished 9th in points. Her 42 ground balls were the 4th highest in the league and the 29 turnovers she caused were good for 5th in the NESCAC.

Throughout the course of the season, McGovern was twice named the NESCAC Player of the Week. She finishes her career with 95 goals, 35 assists, 130 points, and 113 ground balls.
