GET TO KNOW KATELYN WU:
Why did you choose Williams College?
I was drawn to Williams for its excellence in academics and also the opportunity to continue playing competitive tennis.
What do you like about Williams women's tennis?
I love the way our whole team supports each other on and off the court. Whether someone is struggling with school, injuries or other personal issues, everyone steps up to provide help in any way that they can.
What is your pre-match routine?
I always listen to music before my match and try to eat a small snack beforehand.
If you could have one of your teammates' tennis strokes (forehand, backhand, etc.), whose would you take and why?
I would take Ahn Lin's backhand. She is able to place it well and executes it beautifully.
Favorite class taken at Williams?
I really enjoyed ENGL 125 with Professor Bajaj last semester. It was a well-taught class and a good introduction to what English classes were like at Williams.
What other things do you do on campus?
When I am not practicing or doing homework, I like to grab meals with my friends on Spring Street or go to events hosted by clubs on campus.
If you could play another sport at Williams, what would it be and why?
Maybe Track & Field. I have always enjoyed sprinting short distances and wish I tried a bit of track in high school.
Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years?
I am excited to see what Ellie Stark does in 10 years with her passion in film making and script writing.
What is a food you could eat every day and never tire of?
Mangoes, though they are not always in season.
Favorite place you have visited or traveled to?
My dad's hometown in China.
If you could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be?
My grandpa.
