Kathleen Elkins: Spanish & Pre-Med

Senior Year:  Co-captain. Member of2014 NCAA National Championship 3^rd place team. Went28-10 in singles play primarily at #2 including advancing tosemifinals of ITA New England Regional.  Amassed a 28-6doubles record with partner Maria Pylypiv ’15 at #2 includingadvancing to the ITA New England Regional semifinals. Advanced to semifinals of NEWITT tournament with partner Pylpyiv.All-American in singles. Advanced to semifinals of NCAA IndividualSingles Championships (6^th player all time to do so).Ranked #6 nationally in singles at year’s end and #10 inregion for doubles. All-NESCAC First Team Singles, Second TeamDoubles. Finished career with 102 singles wins (3^rdplayer all time to reach the 100 wins mark). ITA All-Academic Team,ITA Scholar-Athlete. Torrence Hunt Award.

Junior Year:  Member of the 2013 NCAANational Championship Team and 3-time National Team Champion. NESCAC Conference Champions. Compiled a singles record of 21-0 inthe spring campaign at primarily the #2 spot. Compiled a doublesrecord of 17-8 including 17-4 at #2 with partner Maria Pylypiv’15. Went undefeated in both singles and doubles in the NCAATournament. Finished year ranked #10 in region and #18 nationallyin singles; #11 in region in doubles. ITA Northeast Region Playerto Watch. Studied abroad in Vallencia, Spain fallsemester.  All-NESCAC First Team Singles. All-NESCAC FirstTeam Doubles. Carol Simon Sportsmanship Award recipient.All-American in singles.

Sophomore Year:  Member of the 2012 NCAA NationalChampionship Team and 2-Time National Team Champion.  LittleThree Champions. Compiled a record of 28-4 at #4 singles includinggoing undefeated in DIII dual match singles play for the secondyear in a row.  Compiled a 28-6 doubles mark at primarily #2doubles with partner Kristin Alotta ‘12. Advanced toquarterfinals of ITA Regional singles tournament and competed indoubles.  NEWITT Tournament 2^nd place finish in AFlight with partner Maria Pylypiv ’15. All-NESCAC First TeamDoubles.  Undefeated in singles play during the NCAAtournament. Bourne Chaffee Award recipient. ITA All-AcademicTeam.

Freshman Year: Member of the 2011 NCAA NationalChampionship Team.  NESCAC Conference Champions.  ITAAll-Academic Team.  All-NESCAC Second Team Singles. Compiled a 25-2 singles record at primarily the #4 spot includinggoing undefeated in dual match play and undefeated in the springseason.  Compiled a doubles record of 19-2 primarily withpartner Caroline Capute ’12 at the #3 spot. Went undefeatedin doubles in NCAA tournament play.  Carol Simon SportsmanshipAward Recipient.

High School: USTA 2007 State Singles Champion& 2008 State Singles Finalist.  USTA 2007 & 2008 StateDoubles Champion.  Participated in USTA Southern Cuprepresenting North Carolina in 2008.  Achieved number oneraking for singles and doubles in 2007 in North Carolina USTAtennis.

Personal: Daughter of Hugh and Diane. Older brother Michael attends UNC Chapel Hill and younger brotherDavis is currently in high school. Both siblings play(ed) highschool tennis.
